My Story

Beginnings

Marck Herzon’s story begins in a Middle Eastern country called Oman, where he was born and raised for 17 years. Growing up, he was naturally curious and driven, especially by technology. When it came time to choose a path, Marck knew technology and engineering were his calling. This led him to move to the Philippines alone to further his studies at De La Salle University.

Challenges

Moving alone to Manila was a challenge, as it meant stepping out of his comfort zone and facing logistical, cultural, and personal challenges. He left a life of familiarity and found himself for the first time, learning to handle all the essentials independently, where he learned to balance his studies with budgeting, booking, and managing daily life. The first few months were tough, but it taught him resilience and ownership of his journey that shaped him for years to come.

Undergraduate and Graduate Studies

DLSU’s academic rigor pushed him further. Here, he discovered how much there was to learn and found himself constantly striving for growth. In his final year, he faced the intense challenge of balancing his master’s thesis and internship at the same term. Juggling these commitments was exhausting, but he stayed committed to his goals. This allowed him to finish his thesis on time and be awarded the Gold Medal for it while graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Machine Learning Lead

After his internship, Marck took on a major project with a multinational client, being offered a project-based contract as a Machine Learning Engineer and lead Mobile Application Developer. He led the team in creating a mobile app powered by AI to monitor office workplace safety.

Teaching

At the same time, he was invited by the department chair to join DLSU’s faculty as a part-time instructor. Teaching gave him a chance to give back to the university and help engineering students of the next generation reach their goals.

Present

Currently, Marck is carrying these experiences in his role as an IT Operations Manager, driving technology to achieve organizational success and excellence, while also championing the use of AI to enhance operational efficiency and deliver greater value to customers.
